Your first adventure
Fantasy Online 2 Beginner Guide
Begin on Noob Island, talk to Gorton, and complete the first quests before spending coins on equipment and skill books. This route explains the controls, your first rewards, and how to choose a level-6 starting build.
Your first quests on Noob Island
Find Fisherman Gorton near the starting area. Speak to the NPC again after completing an objective to collect the reward. The quest log helps you track what remains; a completed objective alone does not hand in the quest.
Welcome to Fantasy Online 2!
Start with Fisherman Gorton in Noob Island. Defeat 1 × Scarecrow. Repeat: One-time quest.
Item rewards: Pointy Stick · Dirty Undershirt
Cracking Shells
Start with Fisherman Gorton in Noob Island. Defeat 5 × Soft Shelled Crab. Required level: 1. Repeat: One-time quest.
Item rewards: Tighty Off-Whities · Letter to Niece
Little Girl Lost
Deliver 1 × Letter to Niece to Nicole. Required level: 1. Repeat: One-time quest.
The early letter reward leads you to Nicole. At level 2, check Little Girl Hungry from Nicole and Night of the Turnips from Farmer Ted. Their Turniphead objectives overlap, so accepting both before fighting avoids an extra trip.
Open the Noob Island map to find NPCs and nearby mob groups. Each quest page shows the current objective and requirements.
Movement and combat controls
- On a keyboard, move with WASD or the arrow keys. You can also select a destination on the ground.
- Select a nearby enemy, then select it again to begin attacking. Start with the Scarecrow in Gorton's first quest.
- Open your character with C, skill book with K, quest log with L, and backpack with B.
- The number keys 1–8 activate the current hotbar. Shift + 1–8 changes the primary hotbar.
- On touch devices, use the movement and action controls shown in the game. Keyboard shortcuts are optional.
When a skill will not activate, check your target, energy, cooldown and equipment requirements. Moving can interrupt an action that requires you to stand still. Read the in-game player help for more controls.
Equip your quest rewards before buying upgrades
The first quests reward a weapon and basic clothing. Open the backpack and equip them; on desktop, double-click an equippable item to use its equip action. The character window shows the equipped slots and attributes.
Compare a new item's required level and attributes with your character before buying it. Visit Shopkeep Sal for the starter equipment used below. Keep quest delivery items until the relevant quest is complete.
Equipment changes combat stats. Cosmetic outfits change appearance. A bow occupies both hands, so it cannot be paired with a shield.
Buy the right skill book and check its requirements
Visit Skill Trainer Wu for early learning books. Buying a book does not automatically learn the skill: use its learning action, then open K to find the learned skill and place it on a hotbar.
A skill has its own level, attribute and energy requirements. Open its database page to see the specific rank, teaching item and current sellers. The build planner's matching list tells you what your setup qualifies for; it does not say you own the book or have learned the skill.
Choose a level-6 starting build
At Spawn level 6, the attribute budget is 12 points above the four base values of 20. You can start with a defensive sword and shield, an Agility bow, or an Intellect wand setup.
The three starter builds list the exact equipment, shop costs, suggested skills and working planner links. Choose the play style you want to try and adjust it as you find new gear.
Plan the next quest, item or progression milestone
- Use item and NPC lookup to trace a needed item to its source.
- Use zone maps to find mobs and vendors.
- At level 60, follow the Rebirth guide for the next progression stage and pets.
